Residential arts and heritage redevelopment in Chatham
This £5m residential redevelopment transformed disused commercial premises on New Road, Chatham, into a high-quality housing scheme combining modern living with heritage restoration. The project involved converting three Victorian terraced properties into twelve flats while carefully restoring the historic frontage with period-style sash windows and doors. At the rear, outdated extensions were replaced with a new residential block containing nine flats and three maisonettes. The scheme also introduced secure resident parking and landscaped communal spaces, including seating, planting, and a children’s play area, creating a balanced arts and heritage-led development with planning permission secured in 2009.
